Our office is in Culver City, a straight shot from Santa Monica on the 10 or Lincoln. We accept most PPO plans and run on time. If you’re not sure whether we take your insurance, we’re happy to check before your first visit so there are no surprises.
Pediatric dentists complete two to three additional years of training after dental school, focused entirely on children. That means we know how to communicate with toddlers, manage nervous kids, and identify issues that only show up in developing teeth.
Your child’s primary teeth affect how they speak, eat, and how their permanent teeth come in. We focus on prevention first, which means fewer appointments, less intervention, and kids who actually feel okay about going to the dentist.

Learn more →Our office was built for kids from the ground up. It’s warm, calm, and nothing like a typical dental clinic. Our team moves at your child’s pace and we never rush through an appointment or push treatment on a child who isn’t ready.
Dr. Ray Klein and Dr. Hayley Botwin both completed pediatric residency training at USC. Dr. Ray is board-certified in pediatric dentistry and speaks fluent Spanish, which is a real advantage for many Santa Monica families. Dr. Hayley is board-eligible and brings the same calm, attentive approach she was known for as a hygienist before completing her residency.
Some kids walk in ready. Others need a few visits before they feel comfortable, and that’s completely fine. Both doctors know how to work with anxious children using positive reinforcement and patient, age-appropriate explanations.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first dental visit by age one or within six months of the first tooth coming in. Starting early builds good habits and lets us catch anything worth watching before it becomes a problem.
The first visit isn’t a deep cleaning. Dr. Ray or Dr. Hayley will count teeth, check how things are developing, and give you practical guidance on brushing, bottles, and what to watch for at home. For very young kids, the exam often happens with your child in your lap. Most visits take about 20 minutes.
